How to Remove Design Ideas in PowerPoint

If you're using Microsoft PowerPoint and find the Design Ideas feature intrusive or unnecessary, you can easily disable it. Design Ideas provides automatic design suggestions for your slides, but if you prefer to create your own layouts or find the suggestions disruptive, follow these steps to turn off the feature.

1. Open PowerPoint and go to the slide deck where you want to disable Design Ideas.
2. Click on the “Design” tab in the top menu.
3. In the Design tab, look for the “Design Ideas” button. This is often found in the “Designer” group.
4. Click on the “Design Ideas” button to open the Design Ideas pane on the right side of the window.
5. At the bottom of the Design Ideas pane, you will see a “Don’t Show Again” option. Click this option to turn off Design Ideas for this presentation.
6. If you want to turn off Design Ideas for all future presentations, you may need to adjust settings in PowerPoint's options. Go to “File” > “Options” > “General”, and under “PowerPoint Designer”, uncheck the box for “Automatically show me design ideas”.
